Help our Families in Need of Presents This Holiday Season

The student council's first learning service project of the year is upon us.

What is the Giving Tree?
The tree will live in the main office after Thanksgiving. It holds SOME of the ornaments that represent needs of several of our OHE families. Each ornament has a different item on it. For example, one ornament may say "Boy, Age 6, Shoe Size 3". The Student Council asks all of our families to help with this service project by selecting ornaments and donating new, unwrapped items to the Student Council. The SC will then sort all the items by family, provide them with wrapping paper and tape, and the school will present the items to the families.

The SC Giving Tree will kick off at the Book Fair for Family Night, Tuesday, November 29. We have SO MANY items that have been requested this year and we hope that you can help.

This year there are TWO ways to obtain an ornament to help out.

1. Visit the Giving Tree at school and choose an ornament. Follow directions listed by the tree.

2. Click here to see our ornaments that have ONLY been listed online (those marked ONLINE are the only ones you can sign up for online). If you can not edit a field, then that ornament will be at school and will need to be picked up off the tree. We are working to minimize any duplications!

When you are ready to donate, place your donation(s) in the office, next to the Giving Tree. Please tape the ornament OR tape a paper with the ornament NUMBER you signed up for online (column A) on the donated gift and do not wrap the gift(s). Donations will be accepted from now until December 9th.

***Donations of wrapping paper, gift bags, rolls of tape, tissue or gift tags are also needed. Please place them next to the Giving Tree as well. The student council will help sort all the gifts and the school will ensure that the families receive our packages!

We hope that you and your family enjoy this wonderful time of year and that you may be able to help our community.

If you have any questions, please contact Erika Ahumada or Paul Cumings.

Happy Holidays,
The OHE Student Council
